Message My A/C was working fine on my ford, but the clutch was rattling very badly, so I decided to just swap out the compressor because it wasn't much more. Of course, that required I swap out the dryer too.

I had a shop evacuate the system. I installed the compressor and dryer. The compressor had 6 oz of oil in it. I took the truck to firestone to have them fill it, and they claimed to have filled it with 31oz of 134a. The spec says 30oz, but whatever. The only issue is the air isn't as cold as it used to be. My dryer can used to be very cold and wet with condensation. Now it is just cool to the touch.

I checked the low-side and high-side... 35 psi - 200 psi. Those seem reasonable. Any ideas? I wondered if they tossed too much oil into the system? I also question if they know what the hell they are doing: the tech said that the compressor clutch cycles on/off ever so often, and I told them over the phone that it was actually fairly normal for that to happen.
